90-Day Goal: Day 13: Shake It Up
Variety is the spice of life. There is power in routine when it helps to reduce friction or distraction. We have been working together to design our lives and environments to help us successfully pursue a 90-Day Goal. That steady work and routine is undoubtedly moving your forward toward success.
At the same time, there is nothing wrong with sprinkling a little variety into our routines. Just a little spice can awaken the senses and create a sense of expectation that brings new energy to the work together. If you are starting to feel a little demotivated or even bored, then try a modification to your routine.
Tip 13: Shake It Up!
If your goal is related to exercise, then maybe you trade a run with a swim or resistance band workout. If your goal is related to expressing gratitude, then maybe you call someone and say thank you instead of writing a card. What can you do to keep on track while inserting a little something that ignites interest?
Don’t be afraid to shake it up every now and then. One of the friends I shepherded through a life plan made her 90-Day Goal turning off all technology by 9:00 pm in order to get a good night’s rest. While that is a static goal, the practice to get ready for rest shifted each evening. One night a good book, another a warm bath, and another a time of meditation and prayer.
