90-Day Goal: Day 73: Today is the Day

I am a graduate of the University of Virginia, which my husband lovingly refers to as a cult. While it is not a religious cult, Mr. Jefferson’s University carries a great deal of pride, tradition, and insider lingo that may appear snobbish from the outside. While I might say this isn’t a fair representation of the university I would be lying. The UVA Kool-Aid tastes great.

UVA was founded by Thomas Jefferson in his retirement as a Founding Father. Regardless of what you think about his politics or portrayal in the musical Hamilton, Jefferson made enormous contributions to art, architecture, and philosophy during his time on this earth. One of his oft-quoted sentiments is “Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.”

Tip 73: Today is the Day.

Psalm 118:24 familiarly says, “This is the day that the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” We don’t have the promise of tomorrow. We live in the present gift of this day the Lord has given us to enjoy his presence and share his love. Today is the day we have to be alive in the Lord.

You may want to put off making progress toward your life dreams and 90-Day Goal. When we are tired and busy and things are piling up, it is easy to put things off until tomorrow. Tomorrow I will have more energy, more space, and more availability. But does it really work out that way?

Today is the day! Whether you take a snippet of wisdom from Thomas Jefferson (Wahoowa) or bathe in the truth of God’s word in the Psalms, the message is clear. Don’t put it off. Crush your 90-Day Goal one day at a time.

Please send me your questions, challenges, and suggestions as we continue in the 90-Day Goal Together. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing the journey with you.
