J1:Session 5

Coach GuideJ1:Session 5

Purpose/Objective

Give an overview of what the Ability Circle is about and the practical components participants will walk through to understand their abilities more fully.

How It Works

BIG IDEA: Everything in Ability Circle is being able to name where there is grace in your life.

  • Give a brief overview again of how Ability fits into the wider Sweet Spot tool. We’ve done the Passion Circle, now we are doing Ability.
  • Talk through the core question that the Ability Circle is asking – “What can I uniquely do?”
  • Walk through the various items participants will walk through to help them see where they are going within the Ability Circle.
  • Everything in the Ability Circle is about being able to name where there is grace in participants’ lives.
  • Land the plane on how knowing their Abilities intersects with finding, understanding and living out their true unique calling.

Context-Specific Tips

  • Accelerator

If you have utilized the three assessments available in the Younique Prepare materials, you will want to make sure all participants have completed these assessments by now. Remember that Insights Discovery reports for your cohort will be collected by Younique Central and sent to you the coach to forward to each participant. APEST and Strengths Finder reports will be sent directly to the participant's email upon completion. If you are using different assessments in your context, also be sure that they have been completed at this point.

  • Weekly Cohort

This is a good week to make sure all participants have completed the assessments you or they have chosen for this process. If you are utilizing Insights Discovery, remember that reports for your cohort will be collected by Younique Central and sent to you the coach to forward to each participant . If you are utilizing APEST and/or Strengths Finder, these reports will be sent directly to the participant's email upon completion.

  • Accelerator

Have participants pull out their Ability Circle Inventory sheet from their Younique Experience Notebook to record summary content from the tools within Ability Circle as they complete each one.

Purpose/Objective

Because so much of our life and purpose is connected to our name and what we’re called, we need to more fully understand names that we’ve been given, and names we need to let go.

How It Works

BIG IDEA: “When we learn to name reality, we release the power to change it. When I name it, I can change it.”

  • Talk through the importance of naming using Biblical Patterns and modern day examples.
    • Biblical Pattern #1 in Naming: Sometimes we need a name change. (Biblical examples of name changes, focusing primarily on Jacob.)
    • Biblical Pattern #2 in Naming: Sometimes we need to live up to our name (Biblical examples of living up to the name, using Gideon as the primary example)
    • Give examples from your own life.

Purpose/Objective

Do an inventory and analysis of names participants have been called, good and bad, and spoken over them, so they can better understand the forces shaping them.

How It Works

BIG IDEA: When I name it I can change it. Names sometimes have positive impact and other times negative.

  • Give participants a few minutes to write down names people have spoken over them, good and bad, and write down on their worksheet.
  • Give participants 30 minutes to write down names that God might be giving them now,
and has given them in the past, writing notes down on their worksheet.
  • Give participants a brief amount of time to scan their worksheet and write some reflective thoughts on the experience, as well as any insights or paradigm shifts they had.

Context-Specific Tips

  • Weekly Cohort

For those in the weekly cohort, often we will begin this process in the session, but it will stretch outside of it. 10 minutes in session and 30 minutes outside.

Purpose/Objective

Help participants see how their various names are playing out in real time, even if they didn’t know, while also giving them a window of insight into who God has uniquely created them to be.

How It Works

BIG IDEA: Understanding the meaning of our given name leaves room for God to speak and can offer insight into our identity.

  • Remind people that names actually mean things, when you understand the definition of each part of your name.
  • Give a couple of examples, including your own.
  • Have people use websites below or others they are familiar with and fill out the ‘Name calling’ worksheet.
  • See if participants can construct a coherent sentence that incorporates various pieces of their name meanings that resonates with them.

Context-Specific Tips

  • Weekly Cohort

Further investigation as homework during the week will most likely be needed.
