When you think about ways to increase value in your life, there are 2 helpful lenses to use as you decide how to use your time and energy. The two lenses are progress and order.
In the book Clarity Spiral, which is the first master tool of the Younique process, Will Mancini shares that progress and order are two big buckets that everything can fit into—every task, every hour, every dollar spent.
Progress is future-oriented. Progress includes activities that help us to move forward, attaining what we don’t have yet, building something new or improved.
Progress activities push into what isn’t available to us today but we long to realize. Progress activity at work includes placing that sales call, dreaming up a new product, and forging a new strategic partnership.
Tip 30: Progress and Order
Order is present-minded. Order includes activities that help us to sustain what we have, care for our world, and organize to create accessibility.
Order activities release energy because they allow us to find what we are looking for quickly, absorb information accurately, and share with others the resources they need to be successful. Order activity at work includes filing important, generating reports, and taking inventory.
You are likely to more progress or order oriented. We need both in our lives in order to be successful. One tip to great life design it to not only understand our own natural preference to progress or order, but to be able to see how the activities we engage in help others by bringing progress or order.
