Today is day 40 of your 90-Day Goal. In the Bible the number 40 is special and usually represents a period of time in which people experience trials. For example, rain fell on Noah for 40 days and forty nights and Jesus was led into the wilderness where he spent 40 days and tempted by the devil.
Maybe you are feeling tired. If so, then let me encourage you! You are in good company. Focusing on a clear goal and sticking to it is hard work.
Finding Hope in God As We Pursue Our Goals
More than a high five from me, let me shine a light on what God provides you when the going gets tough: hope. As we define success according to the witness of the Psalms, we see that success is not about how well you are doing but in you going to God despite how well you are or are not doing. Welcoming God on the journey and sharing it with him is the model of a life well-lived.
Tip 40: Have Hope.
God gives us the gift of hope for the journey. Hope is trust and an expectation that good things are to come. When we are in a season of surviving, we are looking for hope. We may be hurting so badly or the darkness so thick around us that we are desperately looking for a glimmer of light.
God is Guiding Us Even When We Can’t See Our Way Forward
The good news is that even when we can’t see, the Lord is holding our arm and guiding us forward. Look for hope and rely on him to reveal it to you at the appointed time.
When you are in a season of reviving, you are looking toward hope. It is there off in the distance. While it isn’t close enough to warm you, it is light to guide your way. Hope has a direction that is giving you comfort and a path forward.
Thriving seasons is when we are staring at hope and rejoicing in it. Hope realized like hugging your newborn baby after years of painful waiting. Experiencing the gift of your hope being made real is the most intimate experience of the love of God.
Psalm 23:18 says, “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” Whether you are in a season of looking for hope, moving toward hope, or staring at hope, God has a future hope for you. Be encouraged by hope as you continue to crush your 90 Day Goal.
