This week we will blow past the midpoint on our way to crushing our 90-Day Goal! Almost half-way there today, which is a huge accomplishment. This is not a time to let up. Instead, we are going to keep our foot on the gas pedal and motor on toward success.
Motivation is Required to Crush Your Personal Goals
We have to stay motivated if we are going to reach the finish line together, which is why “motivation” is the theme of the week. Paul speaks to this in Hebrews, “And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2).
How do we stay motivated? The first key is to realize that motivation is not a static, steady force. Motivated rises and falls, it waxes and wanes, and this is both perfectly normal and is something to be expected. Motivation has to be managed, meaning we need to cultivate and maintain motivation to run the race marked out for us in our 90-Day Goal.

The path of motivation is a roller coaster—steep climb and deep drop. And then a series of smaller ups and downs until the ride is over and we race to get back in line to experience the thrill again!
Motivation may not be as entertaining as a roller coaster, but it does rise and fall like one. The good news is that when we are aware of the coming dips they don’t surprise or scare us. Instead, we dig deep and find the energy to keep moving forward.
This week I’ll be giving you more specific tips to manage the ups and downs. Today, the big takeaway is that you need to manage your motivation and work to maintain it as we cross the midline on our 90-Day Goal Together challenge.
