Today we reach the 60-day milestone! We’re two-thirds of our way toward our 90-Day Goal Together and that is worth celebrating. Congratulations and keep it up!
This week we are leaning into the promises of God and the specific directives in scripture to remember. While tips and tricks to being productive and staying focused are valuable, even more important is that our identity as beloved children of God is what is ultimately valuable and important.
We are the Lord’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), a work of art whom God cherishes. He is in this with us and is by far the most important partner and friend we have on this journey.
Today’s word comes from Jeremiah 31:34 when the Lord says,”I will forgive their iniquity, and will remember their sin no more.” What good news for those of us who have gotten off track, failed to keep up with what is required to crush our 90-Day Goal!
Maybe we are being hard on ourselves, maybe we are being hard on others. Throwing blame around, getting angry, and reverting back to bad habits or behaviors are all part of being human. And in this word from the Lord, he reminds us that he is Lord. And he is forgiving, relentlessly working out his great redemption story.
Tip 60: Remember Forgiveness.
The Hebrew word here in scripture for remember is best described as God acknowledging or giving attention to. God doesn’t forget and then suddenly remember! While that may be a common human experience, the Lord never forgets. But he does forgive.
When we bring everything we have and everything we are to God he acknowledges us. When you put aside the habits, the fears, the lies that are keeping you from living a full life with God, then God will also remember them no more. In other words, when you put down those obstacles, the Lord will also put them aside and remember them no more.
In one way or another your 90-Day Goal is helping you to become the person in Christ that both you long to be and God wants to use to grow you into the person he designed you to be. God acknowledges your work, and along with you, and will put down the things that keep you from being together with him in this work.
