90-Day Goal: Day 83: Be Good News

What do you like to shout from the mountaintops?

What do you love so much that you tell everyone you know about it? My husband is an Apple product evangelist. He loves all Apple products and reads a blog site called “Mac Rumors” for fun. He loves to know what they are dreaming up next, what features are overlooked but so helpful, and gleefully shares this trove of knowledge with anyone who asks.

Proclamation is another word for sharing with enthusiasm and this is the fifth Christian stream of living water we are looking at this week. The Proclamation or Word-Centered tradition is all about sharing the good news. This can be confused or co-mingled with “evangelicalism,” but it is quite different. This tradition really wants people to see what they see and experience what they experience, which is the love and grace available through Jesus Christ.

Tip 83: Be Good News.

When we think about our life and how we are becoming the person God designed us to be, what can we proclaim? Your 90-Day Goal is you being good news as you faithfully walk out your story with God. Francis of Assisi, a 13th century monk said it well: “Preach the good news everywhere and always; use words if necessary.” In other words, your faithfulness to your call and willingness to crush your 90-Day Goal is your proclamation that good news is available.

Good news is that God heals, restores, and makes all things new. Maybe your 90-Day Goal is one that includes seeking restoration or reconciliation. If so, then drink deep from this spiritual tradition that emphasizes the saving and restoring power of Jesus.

Please send me your questions, challenges, and suggestions as we continue in the 90-Day Goal Together. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing the journey with you.
